Pavia, Oltrepò and Ogliastra take center stage in experiential tourism
Cagliari, June 12, 2025 – Promoting sustainable tourism, enhancing local food and wine traditions, and revitalizing Italy’s rural areas: these are the goals behind the creation of the Associazione Nazionale Ospitalità Italiana Made in Italy (ANOI), established in February 2024 as a point of reference for professionals in tourism, agri-food, and artisan sectors.
During the event “Agriculture and Tourism” held in Cagliari on June 5, 2025, at Villa Fanny, organized by ANOI Made in Italy, several key figures attended: Gian Marco Centinaio, Vice President of the Senate and Honorary President of ANOI; Rosa Lotito, President of ANOI; Roberto Guiggiani, ANOI Vice President; and Giorgio dell’Artino, National Councilor of ANOI Made in Italy.
The meeting, moderated by Gianbasilio Scano, ANOI Made in Italy’s Regional Head for Sardinia, hosted an important discussion on the current state of tourism—especially in Sardinia—addressing several pressing and relevant topics.
At the conclusion of the dialogue between members and experts, ANOI launched a major proposal: the creation of a technical working group to assist in accessing funding aimed at developing the agricultural and tourism sectors, which are still greatly underutilized.
Special focus was also given to experiential tourism and the importance of de-seasonalizing the tourism offer, to highlight lesser-known areas that are rich in potential.
In this context, the project idea “Rete della Ruralità Agropastorale” (“Network for Agropastoral Rurality”) was introduced and presented to members. Proposed by Valerio Ecca, its goal is to create the Consorzio della Ruralità Agropastorale Blue Zone d’Ogliastra e Barbagia—a consortium for offering authentic and sustainable tourist experiences in the Blue Zone region.

The project also aims to establish national partnerships, such as with Pavia and its surrounding areas, to share best practices and develop an integrated tourism offering.
An international partner in the project is the tour operator Dream Italy LLC, founded by Giorgio dell’Artino and based in Dover, Delaware, USA. Dream Italy is deeply committed to developing sustainable, off-season, and above all off-the-beaten-path tourism, focusing increasingly on the appreciation—though challenging—of places that may be harder to reach infrastructure-wise, but that hold the true hidden gems of Made in Italy.
These regions are celebrated for their gastronomy, rich history, art, breathtaking landscapes, and unspoiled nature. Giorgio dell’Artino firmly believes in the potential of areas such as Oltrepo Pavese, Pavia, and Ogliastra: treasures to be supported and preserved. His mission is to promote their uniqueness while ensuring they remain intact and protected for future generations, sharing their extraordinary beauty with the world.

In this context, religious tourism tours are being designed in collaboration with members of Opus Dei who wish to explore Italy and discover its wonders.

Among the strategic partners is also the Consorzio Turistico Ogliastra Blue Zone, founded by Cristian Pinna and other tourism professionals. The consortium launched the Ogliastra Guest Card, an innovative tool designed for tourists seeking a more comfortable and rewarding vacation experience.
With its global Blue Zone reputation, Ogliastra is poised to become a flagship hub for sustainable and experiential tourism in Italy, enhancing local agropastoral enterprises, biodiversity, traditions, and regional products.
